Young man sent to jail for illegal gun and three bullets
Shawhiel Moore has been sentenced to five years and two months in jail for possession of an unlawful firearm and three rounds of ammunition, respectively.
The sentence was handed down to the 26-year-old unemployed man of New Montrose on February 12, 2021 at the Serious Offences Court by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne, after the defendant was found guilty at the end of the trial.
Moore was arrested and charged on June 30, 2019 when members of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) executed a search warrant at his home and found one 9 mm pistol and three rounds of 9mm ammunition. The sentences will run concurrently.
