Labourer appears in court, charged with possession of 128 pounds of Marijuana
A Richland Park man was brought before the court today, May 3, on charges of possession of 128 pounds of Marijuana.
It is alleged that 47-year-old labourer Rohan Stowe was in the possession of 58,461g of cannabis on the night of Friday, April 29 at Peter’s Hope.
The defendant appeared at the Serious Offences Court(SOC) on Tuesday where he was represented by counsel Ronald Marks. He maintained his innocence to two charges namely: possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and possession for the purposes of drug trafficking.
The prosecutor, Station Sergeant Renrick Cato, had no objection to Stowe’s bail but asked that the usual conditions be applied including the attachment of a surety, stop notices, and the surrendering of travel documents.
Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne set bail at $60,000 with one surety. She also stipulated that the defendant report to the Mesopotamia police station every Friday, ordered his travel documents be surrendered and stop notices placed at all points of entry and exit.
Stowe’s next court date will be May 31.
