Public servants to get counselling service
THE MINISTRY of Public Service, Consumer Affairs and Sports will launch the Employee Assistance Programme Unit at an official ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Methodist Church Hall commencing at 10:00 a.m.
A release from the ministry said the ceremony will also include a ribbon cutting component.
Prime minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves and Minister of Public Service, consumer Affairs and Sports, Frederick Stephenson would be deliver addresses.
Following the launch, the Unit will begin operations in which public servants, who are unable to effectively function on the job, can access counseling services to mitigate the adverse effects that are hindering productivity. Counseling services are provided for a wide range of issues and public servants are encouraged to utilize these services, which are free of cost, the release states.
It added that the Employee Assistance Programme is a well needed and welcomed intervention programme which would greatly influence the nation’s human resources and transform the public service. The Unit is located on the second floor of the St. Vincent Automotive Building at Rose Place, Kingstown.
