HEAD COACH OF the Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association, Jenny Trumble has been invited to participate in coaching the Emerging Nations teams at the Allianz WorldYouth Sailing Championships in The Hague.

This year’s World Sailing Championships has attracted 450 sailors from over 67 countries, and in advance of the competition, 23 sailors and 10 coaches from 17 Emerging Nation Countries completed an intensive sailing programme, a release from the Sailing Association states.

Under the guidance of World Sailing’s Head of Development and Training, Rob Holden, and fourtime Olympian, Tania Elías Calles from Mexico, Jenny was immersed in the six day training clinic, coaching theory in the classroom, and in practice on the water. She was awarded the World Sailing Technical Coach Level-3 and can’t wait to bring her knowledge back to SVG’s young sailors, the release states.

Trumble said, “It was a fantastic experience to attend the WorldYouth Championships and coach in the Emerging Nations Programme. We have been part of this programme for over a year and, with the right dedication and training, we have youth sailors in St Vincent and the Grenadines who can compete on the World stage. St Vincent and the Grenadines has been offered two places at these World Championships for next year, 2023, so now the hard work begins” Vice president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association, Kelly Glas said “It’s an honour for the SVGSA to be recognized by World Sailing and another step in the plan to get Vincentian sailors to the World Championships and the Olympics”
