SVG lasses vie for Miss SVG crown tomorrow-Who will shine?
The stage is set. The dresses have been altered for just the right fit. The talent performances have been rehearsed and refined. The swimsuits are skimpy. The crown is ready.{{more}}
And so are the eight beauties, one of which will be crowned the next Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The young ladies: Tessica Cupid, Natika Emmons, Lekeysha Glynn, Devon Greene, Nasheka Hoyte, Shanique Peters, Nelicia Thomas and Melissa Yorke all claim that they are ready for the moment, whether they are crowned winner or not.
The ladies, speaking at their final press appearance on tuesday before the contest, all claimed that the preparation for the pageant has been a life altering one.
Each lady had high praise for their competitors, and thanked the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) for the opportunity to compete. They also thanked their sponsors, family, friends and chaperones for the help and support.
Special thanks were expressed by all, to the coordinator of beauty shows Cheryl Rodriguez, who worked along with the contestants from the time they were selected.
Speaking at the press conference, Rodriguez commended the contestants and chaperones for taking part in what she considered a challenging journey.She then outlined the programme for tomorrowâs pageant, which is set to begin promptly at 8 p.m.
The contestants are to make four judged appearances in swimwear, talent, evening gown and interview. There will be performances by the Starlift Steel orchestra,the SVG Indian Heritage dancers, Mighty Toiler, Zola, the Band Akcess,I-Pa and Kyron Baptiste.
Miss SVG 2006 Sheridan Lewis will make her final walk at Saturdayâs event before crowning the 2007 winner.
The Miss SVG pageant has been over the years, one of most successful shows organized by the CDC.
