30 calypsonians to fight for place in finals

With seven picks each, the top spots in the Semi-Finals of the national calypso competition have gone to the foreign based “Dynamite Calypso Tent” and the local new comers “Upstage Experience.”{{more}}

The seven from “Dynamite” are; Man Age, John Dougan, Coyaba, Groovy D, Man Syck, I-Madd and Bob MC while the seven from “Upstage” were; Poorsah, Kijah Gani, Ron B, Bomani, Land Lord, Skarpyon and Brother Ebony.

Three tents had two picks each. They are the “On Tour Calypso Tent” with Abby Jah and Vibrating Skates, the “North South Leeward” tent with I-Come and Struggler and the “Graduates Calypso Tent” picks of Lexi and Defoe.

A total of 20 calypsonians would be competing in the Semi- Finals on Friday, June 29 at the Victoria Park from 7 p.m.

The Raga Soca Competition, which was advertised for Sunday, June 24 has now been rescheduled to Saturday July 14.
