The calypsonian, who won the title last year for the first time in his 25 year career, said that although he has heard some very good material coming out of last Fridayâs semi final competition, he is quite confident about what will happen when itâs his time in the âBig Yardâ.
âI believe I will retain the crownâ, Constance said. âIt will be an interesting finals, but I am very confidentâ.
Constance believes that his songs âSad Situationâ and âIpa Reportingâ will move the judges and the fans as well; he said that the fans can expect a good performance from him, and they will not be disappointed.
Trying to wrestle the crown from Constance, would be former monarchs Poorsah, Vibrating Scakes, Abijah and D Man Age.
Newcomers to the Big Yard are Bomani and Skarpyon will also attempt to dethrone Ipa, along with Lexi, Groovy D, Brother Ebony and I Come.
Also at Sundayâs show, 14 costumes from eight mas bands will compete for the king and queen of the bands title, and the National Lotteries Authority Sion Hill, Digicel Rhythmix Steel Orchestra and Elite Steel Orchestra will battle for the panorama championship.
