Ironically officers from the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) had just left Chateaubelair for Kingstown after a futile manhunt for the same fugitive; he was being sought in connection the fatal daylight shooting of Sean Baptiste In February at Ottley Hall.

Police Constable (PC) 644 Malcolm Alexander of the MCU along with PC 125 Rolston Hadaway of the police band and number of civilians apprehended the fugitive while he was brushing his teeth at a Plan Village residence. He fought desperately to avert capture but he was no match for the posse.

PC Alexander told SEARCHLIGHT that he changed his mind about returning to Kingstown with the MCU squad, “I had to find this guy even if I had to turn up the whole ah Chato,” he said. “The real heroes here are the civilians who helped,” he also stated.

The prisoner was taken to the Chateaubelair police station then later handed over to the MCU officers who had returned to Chateaubelair after being informed of the capture.

The prisoner said that his name is Andy Williams of St James, Barbados but police officers were calling him Jason, he also goes by the moniker “Bounty”.
