Chief Nursing Officer, Sister Audrey Scott is to head the soon to be commissioned Board of Directors of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, information reaching SEARCHLIGHT suggests.{{more}}

Reliable sources indicate that Scott is to be confirmed as Chairman of the Board and will have as her deputy, Chief Agricultural Officer, Reuben Robertson.

This board is the key component, which when put in place, will spearhead the full amalgamation of the four divisions of the Community College, in compliance with the Community Colleges Act of 2006.

Once the board is commissioned, it is expected that from January, the nursing school will officially become a division of the Community Colleges, no longer under the administration of the Ministry of Health, joining the Teachers’ College, Technical College, and the Division of Arts, Science, and General Studies (the A’level College) in Villa, to make up the Community College.

When SEARCHLIGHT contacted Sister Scott, she said that she did not wish to make any comments on the matter at this time.

The other members of the Board will be ex-officio members, we have been informed, including the Chief Education Officer and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education.

Cabinet was due to make a final decision on the Board’s composition, and an announcement is expected to follow.

Dr Veronica Marks is the Director of the SVG Community College.
