Senior citizen on $40,000 bail
A 68-year-old man of Canouan was on Tuesday released on $40,000 bail after appearing at the Serious Offences Court on gun, ammunition and marijuana charges.{{more}}
Moeses Bonadie, a retired businessman of Canouan pleaded not guilty to all seven charges laid on him. The visibly feeble Bonadie was charged with: possession of one Springfield Series A .944 firearm, .22 Remington 522 viper rifle, 879 rounds of .22 ammunition, 24 rounds of 12 gauge ammunition, seven rounds of .22 ammunition, 1135 (2.5 pounds) of cannabis and being armed with a firearm, unlawfully threatened to discharge it at Andre Patterson, 41, Supervisor, of Canouan, on August 3, 2008.
The prosecution raised no objection to Bonadieâs bail, but asked that a cash bail be imposed on him. Chief Magistrate Sonya Young did not impose a cash bail and asked that he provide two sureties and surrender all his travel documents.
The matter was adjourned to January 8, 2009, for hearing.
