After nearly about one and a half hours of tense deliberations by a twelve-member mixed jury, they returned a unanimous verdict of guilty.

Jacobs hacked Ledger to death with a cutlass following an argument between them the night before, which had led to his spending three hours in police custody. When he was released by the police, Jacobs went to his home, armed himself with a cutlass and went in Ledger’s house and started chopping her. She died as a result of multiple chop wounds about her body.

Sentencing for Jacobs will be held on October 31, at which time a Social Inquiry report and Psychiatric report should be made available.

Lawyer Ronald Marks represented the Jacobs and Duane Daniel led the crown’s case. (KW)
