Diandra Matthews from Cherokee, Alabama, who has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in mathematics. This is a prestigious honour very few students can hope to attain. In fact, the Academy recognizes fewer than 10 per cent of all American high school students. She has earned the presidentâs award from Mars Hill Bible School and has graduated from the youth leadership of the schools programme, sponsored by the Shoals Chambers of Commerce. She has also earned the prestigious bronze and silver awards from the Girl Scouts of America, which is among her many achievements. Diandra is the daughter of Doreen Matthews of Brighton, St Vincent and the Grenadines. Her guardians are James and Lucy Stephenson of Cherokee, AL.
