Dr. Kirby featured on stamp issue

In 1999, in commemoration of the United Nations “Year of the Elderly,” St. Vincent and the Grenadines issued a set of commemorative stamps to honour four of our most outstanding senior citizens. The late Dr. I.A.E. Kirby was included among that number.

The others were, the late midwife Mother Sarah Baptiste, who passed away in December 2004, the late Thomas M. Saunders, after whom the Richmond Hill Secondary School has been named, and former Governor-General, Sir Sydney Gun-Munro.
