Five injured in land slippage incident at Belle Isle
Five persons were injured in a land slippage incident at Belle Isle on the Leeward highway this afternoon, which resulted in a temporary closure of the public road.
According to a release on the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) website, the road leading to Belle Isle was closed to vehicular traffic.

Persons on scene told SEARCHLIGHT that it was close to 1pm when the cliff face collapsed on the five workers — two women and three men — who were in a shed at the time.
SEARCHLIGHT understands that the victims cried for help and were subsequently taken to the Buccament Polyclinic to receive medical attention.
There were no fatalities.

A police official also confirmed that the road has since been cleared.
