62 new COVID cases recorded today, January 19
The number of active COVID-19 cases in St Vincent and the Grenadines continues to increase, with 62 new cases being confirmed today.
A release from the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) said all of the cases are nationals detected during contact tracing, testing at flu clinics and targeted screening.
A total of 464 local cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in SVG, the majority of whom are said to be linked to various cluster types including work sites, churches and private parties.
To date, 602 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in SVG, 119 of which have recovered while 481 remain active. Two COVID-19 deaths have also been recorded.
NEMO’s release said all positive cases will remain isolated until cleared. To be cleared, individuals in isolation must have 14 symptom free days and return a negative PCR test result.
