‘Out with the old, in with the new’ applies to make-up too

“Out with the old, in with the newâ applies to make-up too
Of course, women need to pay great attention to the use of old cosmetics on their face, more specifically on their eyes. The mantra of the holiday season is “Out with the old, in with the newâ, and this mantra needs to be applied to make-up. Instead of using old makeup â eye make-up â it would be wise to purchase brand new eye make-up. It is easy to develop serious eye infections using old eye make-up. We usually see an increase in such infections during festive seasons.
Why? The reason is that old make-up â liquid eye-liner and mascara (whether they are water-based or oil-based) breed bacteria. Bacteria flourish in moist conditions. When make-up is used beyond the recommended date of use, women raise their chances of suffering from severe eye infections â conjunctivitis or styes.
Therefore, once liquid eyeliners or mascara have been opened, you have up to six months before replacing them.

o Toss your old makeup in the garbage and purchase new make-up.
o Regularly clean your cosmetic brushes
o Donât share make-up with your friends, co-workers or family (germs can spread easily in this manner)
o Remove all makeup before you go to bed, cleaning your face and eyes entirely.
o Do not wear make-up every day. Go for a natural look from time to time. This will allow the eyes breathing time.
