Judgement Day

It was a mob scene in Kingstown on Wednesday afternoon when Vincentian Digicel Rising Star finalist Kyron Baptiste (forefront) toured the capital with judges Vynette “Vinny V” Frederick (3rd from left), Wayne “Cool” Simmons (forefront right) and Serpent (left) along with other Digicel officials including marketing manager Jerry George.

Vincentians showed an outpouring of love and pride for their native son, some with collection boxes and flyers chanting “make a donation for Kyron”.{{more}}

The party went into Coreas City Store where Baptiste was introduced to manager Jean Johnny Findlay who is spearheading a voting drive for him.

At the Kingstown Central Market women and school girls rushed to greet and hug him.

Jewelry designer and vendor Alicia Simmons presented him with a necklace.

“This is for good luck”, she said Baptiste and Antiguan Omar Mathurin are the two finalists in the Digicel Rising Star competition, but we’ll have to wait until Sunday night when the votes are tallied to see who claims the number one spot.
