Man, 35, charged for assaulting 6-year-old
Police have arrested and charged a 35-year-old labourer of Kingstown in connection with indecent assault of a six-year-old primary school pupil of Old Montrose on Tuesday, January 9, 2007.
Mark Gumbs was remanded to her Majesty’s Prison after pleading not guilty to the charge at the Family Court at Lower Bay Street on Wednesday.{{more}}
Police reports state that around 5.30 p.m. the girl was in the road near to her home when Gumbs is alleged to have pulled her in some nearby grass and started touching her vagina.
Reports indicate that residents of the area saw when Gumbs pulled the young child into the grass and went to her
assistance. He was chased and beaten by the villagers before police were called to the scene.
The matter was adjourned to January 31.
