Sir Sydney is dead

Former Governor and Governor-General of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Sir Sydney Gun-Munro passed away quietly at his home in Bequia on March 1, 2007 at the age of 90 years.

The body will lie at the House of Assembly today Thursday, March 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. so that Vincentians can pay their respects. The period between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. has been set aside for viewing by dignitaries. The General Public is invited to pay their respects between 11:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Sir Sydney will be laid to rest on Saturday March 10th at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Bequia.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Joan Lady Gun Munro, three children, Rodney, Sandra and Michael, and ten grandchildren.
