Brewster, speaking at the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC)’s press conference on Tuesday urged persons to bring only necessities to the city.

He advised against bringing jewelry and important documents to events, and that persons should only take the necessary amount of money to the city.

Brewster, who was the unfortunate victim of a pickpocket at last year’s carnival festivities, warned that the criminal elements are going to use every opportunity they get to commit crimes.

He warned persons who were considering bringing aerosol cans and weapons to Kingstown, that the usual stop and search will be in effect. He also had stern words for drivers who put their lives and the lives of others at risk by speeding, parking in undesignated areas and those who drink and drive.

According to Brewster, carnival is the largest money earner for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and the police stand committed to the security and safety of all. (JJ)
