Justice Gertel Thom will on that day hear arguments in the matter of an application made by lawyers on behalf of the woman who has accused Dr Ralph Gonsalves of raping her.
She made the decision after hearing from Emery Robertson, lawyer for Dr Gonsalvesâ accuser; Joseph Delves, lawyer for the Director of Public Prosecutor (DPP) Colin Williams, and Graham Bollers, who appeared on behalf of the Attorney General Judith Jones-Morgan yesterday (Thursday, February 14).
Dr Gonsalvesâ accuser is seeking leave to seek judicial review of the decision by DPP Williams to take over and âwholly discontinueâ the private criminal charges of indecent assault and rape made against Dr Gonsalves.
Dr Gonsalves was scheduled to appear before a Kingstown Court on February 22, when DPP Williams stepped in, stating that evidence presented to him did not point to any wrong doing on the part of the Prime Minister.
