Problem Child takes 2017 Road March
The hit tune âNever Bowâ is the road march for Vincy Mas 2017.
The popular soca song, also known as âNeither Me,â was performed by veteran soca aritse Shertz âProblem Childâ James on the Zaboca Riddim.
With its hook: âNever do wrong ting fuh mek money; neither meâ¦,â the tune caught on like wild fire and became the most played and requested song on the road for the Vincy Mas 2017.
âNever Bowâ scored 68 points with the judges.
James, a prolific song writer who lives in the United States, previously won the road march title in 2007 and 2009 with hits âParty Animalâ and âMadd Houseâ respectively.
In 2015, James, also known as Johnny Fontaine, bowed out of the Ragga and Soca monarch competitions, saying after competing for seven years it was no longer fun for him.
This year, James launched a Carnival âDoh Kill the Vibeâ campaign aimed at promoting positivity and love throughout the season. He said while he was not competing in the Ragga and Soca monarch competitions, he was not excluding himself from being in contention for the road march.
Other songs released by James for the 2017 Carnival season include âDoh Kill the Vibeâ and âLeg Up Dey.â
Delroy âFiremanâ Hooper with âWildâ was second with 45 points, while in third place for the 2017 road march was Shane âHypa 4000â Husbands with Riddim Section, which got 37 points from the judges.
