For the third year running, Island Wide Fitness will host the Foam Run, which will focus on the health and well-being of Vincentians, who are being encouraged to participate.

With non-communicable diseases (NCDs) as the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Keyon Constance, founder of Island Wide Fitness, said hosting the 8K Foam Run is essential.

The event is open to the public and comes off on April 6, 2019, starting at Granby Street. Constance noted that the event will also have elements of fun as they will line the route with glow foam and black lighting. A health fair will also be part of the day’s activities.

Constance said the main goal of the event is to get Vincentians focussed on leading healthy and balanced lives. “Overall the goal is to get people more aware of how important a balanced nutrition, living healthier and making better choices can increase and improve their lives,” he stated.

The event is sponsored in part by CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank and Constance thanked the bank for its support noting that it was “invaluable” in the staging of the event. “We will use the support to underline the relationship between good nutrition and fitness. It will also support the fantastic opportunity for people to access experts in the field of health and wellness at the health fair pre-event on the day of the Foam Run,” he said.

Country Head Shelly-Anne Samuel said, “this partnership is an exciting way to be connected and responsive to the St Vincent and Grenadines community as we continue our commitment to supporting the development of health and well-being in our communities.”
