Headstart Pre-School holds first ever annual Science Fair
As part of its Child’s Month activities, the Headstart Pre-School held its first ever annual Science Fair on Saturday May 14, 2022, at the St Vincent Grammar School Playing Field.
The Science Fair is part of a range of activities slated for the month, and saw over 50 participants ranging from ages two to four with submissions from eight categories.
The events of the day were kick started with a melodious rendition of the national anthem by pannist and past student of the Headstart Pre-School, Gyft Amaris Wright. The rendition was followed by the presentation of projects by the students to the selected judges.
At the end of the presentation of the projects segment, Bryce Nichols had earned the judges’ nod for the top position with his experiment depicting how germs are spread. Amy James copped the second position with her depiction of a volcano and its eruption, while third place went to Analia Browne who also depicted the spread of germs. The fourth and fifth positions were taken respectively by Taj Parson
whose project featured rainbow bubbles and Aryah King whose project demonstrated to the recycling process.
Students were also given the opportunity to engage in fun activities such as: face-painting, bouncing castle and a mini book sale.
The management and staff of the Headstart Pre-School extends congratulatory greetings to the winners and thanks all of the students who participated in the Science Fair.
They also expressed gratitude to the donors, sponsors and parents who ensured that the children had a phenomenal day.
