Adams racing for more Cycling success
VINCENTIAN, CAMMIE ADAMS who is enlisted in the British Army was the overall champion at the staging of the REME Cycling Championships held in Lyneham,Wilsthire in England, on Thursday, June 30.
Competing in the first stage of the time trial Adams placed third in the 4.22 miles event.
In race two, the circuit event, Adams had to box out the first and second places to lift the title and, with the help of another cyclist he did just that.
“ In the circuit race I had to win, but at the same time, keep out the first and second places in the time trial, but I was helped by a fellow cyclist who with me broke away from the main pack… He rode with and warded off the others”, Adams told SEARCHLIGHT.
Adams though was unable to continue his winning ways when he contested the Army Road Race Championships last Wednesday.
In that event, Adams had to settle for the second place in the 70 minutes, plus three laps race.
“ I just want to continue to train and work hard and get more success,” he said.
Adams returned home last month where he won the Elite Category of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union’s National Championships.
He said his latest set of achievements are testimony to his commitment to the sport and the cause of cycling development in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
