SVG announces 2022 Commonwealth Games contingent
TWELVE MALES and nine females, representing five disciplines will form the St Vincent and the Grenadines team to the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, from July 28 to August 8.
The distribution shows Aquatics ( Swimming) having three males and three females. The male swimmers are Kenale Alleyne, Shane Cadogan and Bryson George, while Abigail De Shong, Tia Gun Munro and Jamie Joachim, are the females.
Squash has three males in the persons of Jason Doyle, Othniel Bailey and Jules Snagg, along with the lone female player, Jada Ross.
They are joined by male cyclist, Zefal Bailey.
Meanwhile, the four Table Tennis selectees are all females in Leah Cumberbatch, Jessica Mc Carter, Shanecia Delpesche and Unica Velox.
And, Track and Field’s six athletes comprise five males in Mc Kish Compton, Handal Roban, Desroy Jordan, Javon Rawlins and Jabarri Michael- Khensu . Mikeisha Welcome is the lone female who will compete under the St Vincent and the Grenadines flag.
Additionally, each discipline has its travelling officials. Kyle Dougan, Mikal Quammie and Simone France are the officials for Aquatics, with Amber Glasgow listed as the official for Squash.
Emmerson Holder will accompany Bailey in Cycling, while Sean Stanley will perform coaching duties for Table Tennis.
Alexandra Walrond, Chester Morgan and Godfrey Harry are officials for Track and Field.
The Vincentian contingent will be headed by Claude Bascombe Jr., who is the Chef de Mission. Jacintha Ballantyne is the team manager and Deputy Chef of Mission; with Sherian Slater, the team doctor.
Completing the contingent are Sonja Arthur, as Attaché and Rohan Thomas Snr., the press Attaché.
The locally based personnel are scheduled to leave for England on Sunday, July 24.
The official Opening Ceremony for the Commonwealth Games is carded for June 28.
