Tribute to Reginald Osford O’Garro

On May 22, 2013, Reginald Osford OâGarro, businessman and former proprietor of O.G. Welding Company departed this earth. Mr OâGarro was born on June 14, 1922 in St Vincent and resided in the St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, for the past 50 years.
His loving wife, Inez Pinney OâGarro preceded his passing 33 years ago. Their children, Carolyn OâGarro-Moore and son-in-law, Dr Kenneth Moore of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Elris OâGarro Davis and son-in-law Clarence Davis of Bowie, Maryland, were with him in his final days at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, Tarboro, North Carolina. The family is comforted knowing that he passed peacefully. Mr OâGarro also leaves his eldest daughter, Yvonne Jossette OâGarro of Philadelphia, PA, son, Eldon OâGarro of St Vincent and the Grenadines, step-son, Dr George Howard Newton and his wife Rosanna âBerniceâ Newton of St Thomas, USVI.
He was blessed with grandchildren whom he referred to as his biggest treasure: grandsons, Jabari OâGarro, Aaron Reginald OâGarro Davis, Jared OâGarro-Moore and Andre OâGarro-Moore and wife, Taletha Mercer, and step-grandsons Geoff and Gregory Newton and their families; granddaughters: Lauren OâGarro-Moore & husband, Colin Brown, Kyle OâGarro Moore, and Alia OâGarro Davis. He is also survived by two great grand-children, Marley and McKenzie OâGarro-Moore. His surviving siblings are William OâGarro of St Thomas, Gwendolyn OâGarro of Miami, Florida, and Randolph Mitchell of St Thomas as well as his brother-in-law, James Pinney of St Thomas and sister-in-law, Georgette, Pinney Browne of Manchester, England.
His relatives, including nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong neighnours and friends will miss him, but will always treasure his memory.
