Although I don’t have natural hair myself, I do have a daughter with natural hair, So I have been able to realize some of the tips that do work. Here are some general tips that stand firm and true.

Eat a healthy diet. Eating a diet rich in protein and vital vitamins and minerals is an essential to healthy hair growth. Opt for foods high in vitamins A, B, C, and E to name a few. Vitamin B-complex, in particular, is extremely important for making your hair grow faster. I don’t know about you, but I make sure to take a multivitamin to make sure I get my regular intake of these vitamins and minerals.

Use castor oil. Being rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, especially omega-9 fatty acids, castor oil promotes hair growth naturally.

Massage your scalp daily. Massaging promotes blood flow to the scalp, which in turn stimulates the hair follicles. In addition, deep condition your hair once a week or as often as you can with a hot oil treatment or deep conditioning hair mask.

Everything should have water. From the products you use to a simple spray bottle with water. Make sure that water is in your hair routine. Lock in the moisture with your usual oils or moisturizers.
Rotate the placement of your ponytail. If you pull your hair back daily, do not place your ponytail in the same spot each day. This can wear down the strands, slowing the growth of your hair. Pull your hair back in a slightly different spot each day.

Scissors are your friend. Although getting regular trims to snip splits won’t make your hair actually grow faster, it will keep tips looking healthy and prevent splits from working their way up strands, requiring you to chop hair off more often.

Use conditioner every time you shampoo. Conditioner helps replace the lipids and proteins inside the hair shaft, as well as seal the cuticle to help prevent more damage from happening so that you can get your hair to grow longer and look healthier.

Do not Over Brush. You should only use a wide tooth comb to detangle your hair. Brushing can be very hard on the hair and cause breaking.
